Bloody Good Grilled Cheese
Level of Struggle: Easy
Prep Time:
5 minutes
Cook Time:
10 minutes
This one is so freakin' good. It's kind of like a grilled cheese made with French Toast, but there's Bloody Mary mix in place of custard. We can't really explain it, but we can promise you it's yummy.
The mic drop of grilled cheese sandwiches.
Ingredients —
Soak:
- 1/2 cup of your fav Struggle Bus Mix
- 2 eggs
Grilled cheese:
- 8 slices of cheese (a mix of cheddar and gruyere melts like lava. LAVA, we say.)
- 6 slices of bacon (optional)
- 4 slices of slightly stale, very crusty bread (sourdough is our personal pref)
- 1 tomato, sliced
- butter, ghee (!), or olive oil for cooking
Directions —
1. Whisk Struggle Bus and eggs for a minute. Do it lazily.
2. Soak each side of each slice of bread for a few seconds depending on the crustiness of your bread. You want it a little damp on both sides but definitely not soggy.
3. Add butter/etc. to the pan and add your Struggle-soaked bread. Enjoy the sizzle sounds.
4. Cook about two minutes (before it gets too crispy crunchy) then flip one slice of bread...
5. Add cheese, bacon, tomato slices, more cheese, then top with other piece of bread.
6. Cook each side for another 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and all cheese is gooey.
7. Make one for your friend, or show them this recipe and let them fend for themselves.
